Book about the making of Hamish's 100th kilt

    Hi all,

In one of the other posts in this section, I mentioned that my daughter and I were putting together a book using the photos that my husband took to chronicle the making of Hamish's 100th kilt. The book is done, and Hamish has his copy, so I thought I'd post a little bit more about the book for all y'all.

iPhoto is a terrific and easy-to-use program for a Mac that lets you assemble a book of photos using a template. It lets you pick the arrangement of images on a page, sizes, etc., and, when you're done arranging the book, you click "buy book", and, about 10 days later, a book arrives in your mailbox complete with a hard cover and a printed dust jacket. Quite fab!

Anyway, here's the cover of the book plus a few of the pages (not the whole thing). I'll split the images over two posts. Carolyn did a fabulous job on the design!

A new kilt with a history already! Fantastic.

Does Dalgleish require 16 yrd minima, or do the two 8 yrd pieces get used somehow?

I tried to click on the photo of husband and daughter, but of course, it didn't grow any bigger. A shame, but glad to see them.

Deansboro and Phoenixville don't seem that close together, or the world is bigger than I realized!

Dalgliesh will do a single kilt length (single width, 8 yards).

Deansboro and Phoenixville are in about the right places, actually!

Here's a blow-up of "The Help". In case anyone is interested, the tartans are US Air Force and New Hampshire!

What a KEEPSAKE, both the kilt and the book of photos. Thanks for making the post about the book and photos.

    Fantastic.

It's the little extra touches (or in this case, BIG extra touches) like this that really differentiate the true artists from even the very best 9-5ers.

The love that goes into a project like this is so very evident.

Thanks for sharing it with all of us.

What a beautiful and indeed unique publication!

My only concern is that the kilt map does not show where the great man and his other kilts actually reside - Storrington is off the map!
