Actually, over the last vew years, all the tshirts and underwear I have bought have had this stuff silkscreened inside. Soo much more comfortable/less hastle than a tag that loves to make me itch or have it removed, or both

Thank you Barb for the insights and advice. I attended Elsie's class early last year and have made a few practice kilts for myself and am in the process of making my first hired kilt. I am a little nervous and cautious, because it is only my second box pleat kilt. I am concerned about doing the join for the box pleat do you have any advice for that?

    Cheers,
    James

Sure - I've found the critical thing is to make sure to locate the join carefully so that the bulky part of the join doesn't lie in the fold of the pleat. Same would be true for a knife-pleated kilt, but the pleats aren't as deep in a box pleated kilt, and you have to be a little more attentive to where the join is going to fall because there's less room to put it in. Does that make sense?
