Kiltmaker's Input Requested, & Who Wants Cthulu Tartan Yardage?

    Hi all,
I'm hoping to have a few of our resident stitch-witches & wizards take a peek-see at the below tartan to see if there would be any 'issues' with crafting it into kilts. We know it's a dark tartan, btw.

The design has an 8" sett size and 288 threads per repeat.

    On to the second bit:

CDNSushi has given me the prod to see how much yardage people are interested in. The goal would be to get enough interest to commission a double-width run from DC Dalgliesh.

Assuming there are no problems with the tartan itself and kiltmakers,
My personal needs are 4 yards for a box pleat (the kilt that should not be )

I'm good for six yards at least.

Depends on the width and yardage cost. I'm good for 5 yards if double width and hopefully we aren't talking $200+ a yard. If around the orginal $20 thrown out I would probably be good for 8.

I pulled out the measuring tape and to my eye it looks to be good for many pleating options, casual, box or tank, sett or stripe.
I wish I could take some, but I've too many irons burning.

Unless there's copyright issues this tartan could also be called Miscatonic University.

The coloring looks so "aquatic" that I'd personally prefer something like "the R'lyeh Sett".

On a side note, anyone know if Deep Ones are suitable for haggis?

    Cool

I'm not in the market for a new kilt, but if I were, I know just the fez to go with it.

That's a nice looking tartan depending on the cost per yard I might be able to convince myself to get a double box pleat with it
    The hielan' man he wears the kilt, even when it's snowin';
He kens na where the wind comes frae,
But he kens fine where its goin'.

I like that tartan. I would be interested in 5 yards (double width), assuming the price is right.
