    New Military Box-pleat!

My latest acquisition is this masterpiece from John at Keltoi. I couldn't be more pleased!

A true "main battle tank": 8 yd. military box-pleat in 16 oz. Lochcarron tartan - Black Watch (Weathered). The fit is just right, and without delving into all the minutiae, let me just say that all the details one would expect from a custom-made kilt are there to an excellent degree. It is entirely hand-sewn with amazingly fine stitching. John has clearly mastered his art!

    Some pics:

John is great to work with, maintains a friendly and personal communication throughout the process, and his fine product speaks for itself. I urge one and all to consider Keltoi - an X Marks partner - for a future kilt purchase.

    Thanks, John...!
    Brian

I have had wonderful discussions with John - he's a great fellow. I'm saving towards an Episcopal box pleat in the heaviest possible material. John will undoubtedly get my order when the time comes.

That is absolutely spectacular Brian! I love it. Thanks for sharing these pics. Man I gotta get myself a weathered/muted kilt someday soon. I love those colors.

    Very nice!

Great looking kilt Brian. With your historical leanings, those muted colors really fit my impression of you, and your style. Well done to John as well.

    Cheers,
    Brooke

Very nice. I really like the look of the weathered tartan. Now I have another kilt to look forward to.

Beautiful kilt, and a great tartan.
(Of course, I'm a sucker for weathered tartans.)

    Congrats!

I'm after a 16oz B/W weathered some day. I made enquiries a couple of years ago but then some other domestic crisis swiped my cash stash and the moment came and went. Seeing yours has re-lit the flame... Thank you very much! 'Tis a thing of beauty you have. I am most envious.
