    Me too though I have to admit it's been a long time since i made a few extra £ grouse and pheasant beating, i do remember it being August...

    I did.... but it is the 12th July 1690 Battle of the Boyne that is known as the "12th" it's a somewhat famous event, not the battle of Aughrim.
    I'm sure that John was thinking of the Boyne, with the Northern Irish connection, as those were the tartans he has selected, rather than Aughrim which is in Galway, Ireland
