Just a few weeks to the Long Island Games will anyone be going. I will be there early to set up a tent near the stage in the shade. Hope to see some of you NY people there.

I think I should be able to make it this year. Let's hope for cooler weather, and no rain.

Just a bump, with the event approaching (hopefully happening before Irene decides to visit ).

Anybody else besides Keith and myself planning to go?

I'm going to be there, dancing with Allison and the New York Celtic Dancers at 11am.
That's the plan, and hope that the hurricane won't hit on Saturday.

If it does, might I suggest something in a nice 16oz. tartan?

    Good idea, Brooke!
My dancing kilt is 13 oz. Aberdeen Football Club, but, sadly, it will stay in the closet because of the impending hurricane.

The Games may or may not be canceled, but Allison, the director of our group (New York Celtic Dancers) decided we had to back out. The big reason is that today at noon all public transportation will be shut down and it seems all bridges and tunnels will be closed because of Irene. Even if we could get to the Long Island Games, we might not be able to get back.

So I'll hunker down at home and sew. I hope we don't lose power and that there will be light to sew by. Also, it would be nice if no trees come crashing down on our house since we live in the woods.
