Ankle broques
I am looking for new shoes/boots for coming fall. I like ankle boots better than low shoes but also the classic brogue look.
Now I found these and was wondering if these are considered proper shoes for trotting around the fields in fall like a Scottish gent.

Or perhaps this British import from Loake?

Re: Ankle broques
I think those are both very smart looking and would look great with a kilt and hose.

Thanks for the replies, and the link to the other thread. Beautiful shoes. I like the English brown ones. But still going to boy the ones I showed. They fit better in my budget and I can try them on before buying. But maybe most important is that the shop will donate a % of their sales for this month to a children cancer foundation.
thanks a lot and I'll show my new outfit next week after the annual student highland games.

This are very nice, but in my opinion, would not look good with the kilt (oxfords, full and half brogues, cap-toes, etc, etc look far better with kilt hose and the kilt in general, in my honest opinion). I rather see this tan style of boot being worn with a pair of tartan trews for day attire, and smooth black leather Chelsea boots for evening attire.
Cheers,

Re: Ankle broques
I found the black ones in a shop called Invito, it's a chain of shoe shops all over the Netherlands. Don't know if they have shops in other countries.

Re: Ankle broques
We nowadays forget how common ankle boots were with Highland Dress in the old days:
