    It must be the picture. I guess it would fit a 36-38 which would have been a reasonable Medium back then. Ref the buttons - see para 2 of #4.

    Yep, and the inside but that's not the point of the question. There's one very obvious feature.

    It has a tie down for the upper half of the plaid on the left shoulder. Sorry, I don't have a better name for it.

    Heath I remember something similar in this picture of Rob Roy. These are the only two examples of this I have ever seen other than the contemporary ones you see now on jackets.

    It would appear that the front is bias-cut and the back is straight. Is it one continuous piece with no side seam?
