Regency Jacket Style
Came across this interesting reference from Alasdair MacDonell of Glengarry in 1822. It’s direction on dress to members of the Society of True Highlanders which he set up and ran.
‘A belted plaid and waist Belt, a Tartan Jacket with T.H. buttons & shoulder buckle, a scarlet coat THrs Cut with THrs Buttons......’
Anyone know to what ‘THrs Cut’ and ‘THrs Buttons’ refers?
I presume that the 'cut' was a particular style and the T.H. and THrs buttons were one and the same?
