Re: Machine Cap Badge
Oh, I know it's not real Latin, but the phrase is traditional, and normally "translated" "Don't let the b@stards grind you down". I've seen it in various signs and such around machine shops for almost half a century.
Ah indeed! Traditional, it is. And a fantastic and amusing motto, to say the least.

    I saw one of those a while back and nearly bought it...then I forgot about it until now. Maybe I'll order one.

    Perhaps I can find one, or have one done, with my favorite pseudo-latin motto from the Possum Lodge: Quando Omni Flunkus Moritatii.
Ok I'll start this off. Saw this ;

    and being an engineer I had to have it. Ordered it two days before Christmas, and got it yesterday, which for Royal Mail and USPS this time of year is pretty good.

    Welcome, Buy-a-Kilt to the XMarks merchants.
Glad to hear you're happy with it Geoff and thanks for the welcome!

    You are also quite right that Royal Mail/USPS can be a bit slower than normal at this time of year. I read somewhere that in the busiest day in the run up to Christmas Royal Mail handles some 130million items - over double their normal capacity! Boggles my mind to think that 130million items can go through their system in single day! However, needless to say, things after the rush always take a day or two to get back to normal.

    Thankfully this year we didn't have the snow that we did last year!
That is a cool badge, I have one I got few years ago from a vendor at a motorcycle rally of all places, I had to quit wearing it after people started commenting on it being steampunk....
I might have to get one for the exact opposite reason. ;)
