Welcome to XMTS. Thanks for your reply. You can see the responses that have been posted on this thread. Perhaps in a week or so there will be more. Do you have any suggestions? We would all like to see a good attendance.

I'll be there Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I believe there is some kind of honor celebration at the Alamo on Friday night for those Scotsmen who lost their lives at the Alamo.

Tartan Day Commemoration at the Alamo

As Chewse mentioned, there will be a Tartan Day commemoration at the Alamo on Friday, March 30. We've attended for the past 3-4 years, and often see The Sp8 (a member here) there as well.

My uncle forwarded an email to me which he'd received from the SAHGA which lists the start time as 7 p.m., but when I contacted Wilma Heberling, who's in charge of the event, she told me it would begin at 6:30, so if you're interested, it would probably be better to arrive early. (I think the 6:30 time is accurate, based on previous years.)

Also, should anyone be interested in purchasing a floral bouquet for your clan, which will be displayed in front of the chapel, you can contact Wilma Heberling at wheberlin@satx.rr.com and arrange it. She told me you could make checks payable to the SAHGA ($18) and give it to her at the event.

    Hope to see you there.

    SM

Wish I could be there. I was born in Waco, and graduated from Texas Military Institute in San Antonio. . .

WHAT?! This is disappointing. Sorry to read this. Unfortunately, I have to bomb out of Tx Scottish Festival, too...(and, it would have been my first year back in a long time).

I have been working with the local weather guys - they assure me there is nothing to worry about when it comes to the weather. We may have few showers, but they will be very quick and light!
