    Kilt sizing question

If I order my first semi-trad USAkilt with a 36in waist, if I loose weight how much will I be able to tighten the kilt up to. 35in or 34in?

    Smile Re: Kilt sizing question

All kilts should have a buffer zone, not just buckles . The joy of a kilt is the fact it can be let out or narrowed as needs be . Hence it is an heirloom. Can be handed down for generations , just by being altered. Invented by Scots the Kings of recycling !

    Re: Kilt sizing question

Going by memory but seems to be about a 3" length betwen the outside holes. With two straps that means a total of 3" in or out IF the kilt is made to the center hole of the straps.

You're an optimist to be pondering losing weight. Hope it works.

    Re: Kilt sizing question

The holes span about 3". If you give us your measurement as 36", we'll make that the MIDDLE hole on the strap, so you can gain or lose 1.5" and still have the kilt fit fine.

    Re: Kilt sizing question

Thanks for the replies. This is great. Currently I am 36in and expect to lose 1in during the hiking season so I will still fit fine.
