It has to have webbing, velcro, and buckles to be considered true tactical. Digicamo is a plus.

But I'm sure the leather came from tactical cows.

The best cheese and milk come from happy cows here in CA.

Q- Where do tactical cows graze?

    A- Anywhere they want to.

So has anyone heard from 511 as to whether this was a spoof or a real deal? I shot them an e-mail as I am sure many others did too, still no word on mine yet.

    Help me Rondo,
Tell me when you get a reply.

    Sorry.

'Think they'll do it in those pink and blue-hued sorta-woodland cammie patterns? Are the pockets big enough to hold a My Little Pony, couple cans of Guiness, beef jerky and some Twinkies?

Iimagine the chicks hitting on y' in your fully loaded 5:11 at the local biker bar..."I just luuuv a man who's tactical...and those paratrooper flip-flops...rarr!"

With the amount of designing and work that goes into a finalising a kilt for sale makes me think that this isn’t an April fool’s joke and could be for real. Although, if it is an April fool’s joke I think it was a stupid waste of resources and money. If this is for real though, they could make good business out of this product as the price is excellent. I guess we will have to see what the company says when they reply to our emails.

    5.11 inside scoop

    Hallo All,
I'm a retail buyer and we had a 5.11 account about two years ago, so I have a contact in Customer Service. I e-mailed her and got this Reply:

"I had to go to our website as this was the first I had heard about the kilt. It was an April Fools joke, however, we received such a huge response from people that truly wanted to purchase it that we are actually talking about producing a limited supply for sale. Stay tuned."

To which I replied with some feedback about how the $60 pricetag might not make any money, that Utilikilts has patents and no sense of humor, but that the product could be great.

She replied, "I am not sure of the actual response volume but I was told there was a lot of interest. Enough for us to consider making the product available on a limited basis. I believe there will be correspondence emails shortly letting dealers know how to purchase the kilts."

This is just one person in a pretty big company, so take it with a grain of salt, but it might be worth contacting your local 5.11 dealer so the brand hears from accounts as well as customers.

As a daily UK wearer, I'd love to get the function without the pricetag (and their sales team attitude), and the reinforced pocket edge would be great, too.
