I've gone ahead and ordered some of these. Simple, proven design, the length is right, and cheap enough (I bought 4).

I actually have several, (I have a #2 size on my belt loop right now) and have no problem with them. I loose my keys much less now than when I used a regular carabiner, also it's easier to grab the keyring I am looking for.

Anyone heard from 5.11 about the yet. My wife was so tickled she rescinded my "no purchase" order just for the chance to take the p!ss out of some of my tactikewl coworkers.

    Away, a new Jones.
Before you judge someone be sure to walk a mile in their kilt. That way you are at least a mile away and you have their kilt."

I sent them an email asking about expected availability and received a phone call back. The young lady said they will definitely be making them and will send emails to all who signed up to be notified. She was unable to give me any timeframe, however.

Find another source. I received these yesterday. I asked for brass... they shipped steel. I asked for double-ended... they sent single-ended. At least they can count... I did receive four. :/

Just received the following email from 5.11. Get 'em while they're hot, guys. The deadline is MAY 3RD.

    Tactical Duty Kilt Update!

We want to thank you for the overwhelming response and support of the Tactical Duty Kilt. As mentioned in a previous email, we are going to make a limited run of the kilts. At this time, we would like for you to go ahead and reserve your kilt by placing an order on http://www.511tactical.com/All-Produ...Duty-Kilt.html.

We expect that your kilt(s) will become available for shipping by September 1, 2012. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate the purchasing of Multicam kilts at this time.

Please note, this is the only time we are going to make the Tactical Duty Kilt. The last day to place an order for your kilt on 511tactical.com

is Thursday, May 3, 2012. If you happen to miss this opportunity, we will create a waiting list. All remaining inventory will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Don't miss this opportunity to get the Limited Edition Tactical Duty Kilt from 5.11 Tactical.

    Thanks,

    5.11 Tactical

Alas - if funds were no object, I'd do the same -- only it'd take 2 of each since I'm buying for myself and my son...

    Congrats.

I wonder which one of us will be the first to receive the kilt?
