    Hawick, Scotland

The sharp eyed among you may have spotted me holding the Quaich in this group photo from the Dumfries Kilted Pub Crawl and Burns Supper 30/31 March photothread.

The Quaich made the fifty three mile journey from Dumfries to Hawick on Sunday 1st April and is seen here shortly after arrival in Scotland's Heritage Capital and Home of Cashmere.
A year on since I attended the launch of The Quaich in Victoria BC on 19th March 2011 and The Quaich has travelled to my home in Scotland the long way round from Canada, via Japan, Australia, Tasmania, France, Belgium, Germany, England and Wales.
The Quaich hopes to visit House of Cheviot to see the production of quality Hawick Kilt Hose.
If you want to meet up with the Quaich and sign the log book it will be at
CARLISLE AIRPORT (Solway Aviation Museum) on Easter Monday, 9th April from 10:30am till 5pm and at
PRESTONPANS RAILWAY STATION (near EDINBURGH) on Wednesday 11th April at 11am prompt for handover to the next recipient.
More photos of the Quaich's visit to Hawick will follow in due course.

Good to see the Quaich in Hawick. I am sure it will continue to enjoy its travels.

Clever how you and English Bloke are getting away from paying postage charges!

    I never forget Robertson.

But I posted the Quaich to Preston and now it's being transferred by hand for a bit seemingly lad.

It's just Northern frugality Anyway, a Quaich should be passed from hand to hand... that's how it's done

It will need a trip to the Emerald at some point, perhaps after a couple more circumnavigations

As promised, an Easter Monday visit by the Quaich to the Vulcan bomber at Carlisle Airport.

The Quaich perched on the port undercarriage leg in eager anticipation of climbing aboard.

Gabrielle helped the quaich to climb up into the Navigator-Plotter's seat.

The Quaich wanted to take control and was soon on the throttles, eager to be off on the next adventure.

As promised, The Quaich paid a visit to the House of Cheviot kilt hose and country tops factory in Hawick.
The Hawick factory is just a short walk from my house but the socks are available from the factory on a wholesale only basis. Please do not send me requests to supply socks direct from the factory.
You can purchase these excellent quality hose from Freedom Kilts in Victoria BC Canada, or The Scottish Tartans Museum in North Carolina USA, or from Chris (Redshank) at Dunadd Trading Company here in Scotland.
The Quaich is due to leave Hawick tomorrow morning for new pastures, watch this space!
