Harpenden Gathering is a really good day out.
I have been to four of the last five, 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011.
Unfortunately it looks like I will probably have to miss it this year.

Sounds cool and a great opportunity to escape the 12th of July stuff in Norn Iron which is not my thang (no offence if its yours).
Is it in the middle of the Olympics?

    Hello All,

I can confirm that I will indeed be running an information tent at Harpenden Highland Gathering this year. The tent will be in "Clan Corner" - no details yet.

For those who don't know, here is the website:

    http://www.harpenden-lions.co.uk/highland-gathering.php

Cost is £6 on the day, but £3 if you buy tickets in advance. Not on sale yet. But the best is Under 16s get in free when accompanied by an adult - how cool (and cheap) is that!

    Regards

    Chas

I seem to remember seeing dogs there last year, it has a very much a family day out feel about it .

Here is a gallery of some photos from last year , plus a video clip of the Gay Gordons dancing Harpenden photo gallery

I usually take my dog with me, no problem at all, and there are plenty of other dogs around too.

As far as I know they have no problem with dogs - Dougle has brought his before.

They do have a bit of an issue with smoking (canvas and polyester tents).

How they feel about smoking dogs, I have no idea.

    Regards

    Chas

I have enjoyed several visits to Harpenden, The weather and the company has always been excellent. As already stated, Chas's tent makes for a very good Xmark base and I hope to be there again this year.
