What I'd like to see is an "All California" team championships. The Orange County Highlanders actually have enough throwers to field two teams. I can picture "Team Gold County"...and "Team Sacramento" and "Team Sonoma". The idea would be that the teams were made up of throwers who actually really did practice together now and then.
If we changed it to just "two open mens throwers" rather than an A, B and a C that would make it easier. "Team Monterey Bay" could form up. Team Sonoma would be the gang to beat: Jon Davis, Jon Sisseck, Kristina Sisseck and for the Master... Josh Grace. HELL of a lineup.
Beth Burton has a guy on her track team who just graduated. He wants to try this stuff, and gave it a go after the Stanford Invitational. FIRST time out...48 foot open stone, 93-96 foot hammers, 50-55 foot 28 pound weight throw. He'll be an "A" in no time at all.
But...one step at a time...
