I have just recently purchased the nylon. An absolutely wonderful sporran. I now really, really, really want the brown leather one -- but they expect May sometime as the earliest they might have them in...maybe... Can you be Jonesing for something you haven't even ordered?

I got a black leather one last year and now I want a brown one. I did not get charged any extra import duty etc.
It's by far the most used. I agree with Riverkilt that slightly thicker leather would make it more substantial, but not too thick, I would not want it to be too stiff.

I got spanked on all three of mine Chris and they were all ordered at different times. My card must be marked!
I'm surprised they don't send me ransom notes cut out of news-print. Blitherin' Footpads and Highwaymen that they are!

I too have the brown and apart from formal occasions, I wear nothing else. I am currently saving up for the black leather.

    How heavy?

Any backpackers out there who own the Stillwater Kilts Nylon Cargo Sporran? Anybody with a kitchen scale or other small scale? Please weigh it for me and let me know how heavy it is.

    Thanks!

That includes a home made nylon strap made from an old fanny pack. I did remove the beaners before weighing it.

Wore mine for the first time in KC. I wore it with the snap on kilt hanger. I didn't care much for the hanger as the straps kept moving toward my buckle (gravity sucks). I think I'll go back to chain next time! As I only wear it when I throw, I don't have a ton of use for it other than the "down time" between events. Love my Nightstalker though!

I have both the black nylon and brown leather nightstalkers. I love Matty's strap and will probably steal the idea for my nylon sporan. Those big plastic rings with traditonal chain hooks were my only complaint.

For the brown leather sporan, I bought a thin brown leather belt. Just make sure the belt does not have a rough inner lining, so it does not wear on the kilt.

The nylon hanger is an outstanding idea! Hmmm... where in my garage do I have one of those? I love the concept of the hangers, just wish I could get them to stay in place. The chain looks great, but is a paint to take on and off between events.
