St. David's tartan cilt - Where to Buy?

I am looking for a St. David's tartan cilt under $75.00. Does any entry level store comparable to Stillwater kilts or Kiltmart sell an acrylic St. David's tartan cilt in the United States?

    Thanks.

Don't look good...you might find some of the popular Scottish tartans in acrylic for cheap but I've never seen the St. David's tartan done in acrylic (or PV, either).

The only sources that I know of for the Welsh tartans, aside from the generic Welsh National and Welsh Heritage, are the very few mills in Wales who produce them in wool only. They are not cheap. My brother did a kilt in Watkins of Wales some years ago and paid around $75 US per meter for single-width 11.5 ounce wool. Very nice fabric, but expensive.

Not St. David, but as close as I have seen in a budget kilt.

    Best of luck.

I know this supplier is not in the USA, but I have a totally wearable poly-vis cilt from them in the St.David's tartan (Brithwe dewi sant). It is also above your $75.00 budget, but if all else fails.....................!

    Take care,

MM USED to weave the St. Davids in PV, but discontinued it about 6 months ago or so. They WERE available from the Welsh Tartan Centre (see above links from other members) or from USA Kilts, but no longer. As Tony from the Welsh Tartan Centre is the one who owns the rights to that tartan, it will only be available from him or authorized resellers of his.
