Costco is just littered with practice equipment!

I have been busily trial-ing and error-ing in my efforts to put together some viable practice equipment for my triumphant 2013 entry into the world of Highland Heavy Athletics. My wonderful mother-in-law (really! test that for even a hint of sarcasm) came across an item at Costco that was seemingly made with the master class (and <190lbs class, in the Rocky Mtn. region) in mind.

In true Brave style, appropriating a catch phrase before it gets old and tired:

    Feast yer eyes!

Not only is this bag of cat-poop sand 42 pounds, it comes equipped with a sturdy handle--perfect for gripping the bag just prior to it flying 14 feet over a bar!

This might seem tongue-in-cheek, but I'm seriously going to wrap this sucker in duct tape and throw it. For now, for 11 dollars, it's exactly what I need.

    That's brilliant litrog
I love the fact that it's ammonia infused, that way when you pass out in your attempt to clear the bar, your mother in law can just cut it open and revive you!

But might I advise - LOTS and LOTS of duct tape - can imagine the mirth if this little beauty were to split open on impact!

All part of the plan...a built-in defense mechanism. If that thing explodes, I can convince myself that the uproarious laughter is aimed at it rather than the fact that the toss barely cleared the top of my head. I'm far too sensitive for that kind of ridicule.

And MacMillan's son--that's just yukky. Really gross, man. So disappointed in you.

    Ah, so right unixken!

Ok Ok, litrog, I've been informed that in order to get maximum utility from the implement, the cats have to use it first...sorry, that's what you have to do! Actually, if you poke some "scent" holes in the bag after you refill it, it may provide some motivation (or "inScentive") to hurl it higher!

This thread was intended to illustrate Alan H's point about throwing what you have. If all you guys can do is kick sand on my earnest efforts, urine for a surprise: I refuse to play along.

    Now, scat!
