It was hot and HUGE! An estimated turnout of 11,000 people.

Xmarkers UnixKen and A_Hay stopped by the Clan MacTavish tent to visit. Tom (A_Hay) somehow managed to escape the camera, but Ken was caught (L to R, Mark Stevenson, David Thorpt, Ken (obviously a Buchannon)...

One of my favorite visitors to the tent was a wee lad named "Thistle"...

When I was at the Buchanan tent, I was offered a sample of Buchanan 18yr Scotch (yummy!), and received an invitation to join the group for dinner afterward, at a local Claddagh Irish Pub, with some of the officers and members of the Clan Buchanan Society International. All in all, a very good day (and evening.)

Wish I had known you were an XMarker when we met! That would be me 2nd from the left holding our Clan banner. Glad you enjoyed the dinner, it was a pleasure having you join us! I also like this collection of tartans with the Modern, Weathered Reproduction, Hunting, Ancient, and the Watson represented.

Agreed! I had my X-Marks cap badge on my Balmoral (complete with Dandelion), but had left the cap in the car when I entered the restaurant. I enjoyed the conversations with the folks I got a chance to talk to, and the meal was quite good.

It was precisely the mix of color schemes in all the kilts that prompted the photo.

    I had a great time.

I was so impressed with Thistle (The Scottish Terrier) that we are now on the waiting list with a prominent breeder in our area. Puppies will be born sometime in September and should be ready to come home by Christmas.
