Colin, clearly there is at least one other Xmarker going, although we will most likely not recognize each other. Not inexpensive for sure but for a formal dinner at the Granite Club, Burn's Supper activities as well as ceilidh dancing (including two dance practices at the club) it's a pretty good value.

I went to make a reservation at the Pour House, but it turns out they are actually selling advance tickets. If anyone is interested, pick some up soon because they only have a handful left!
Also, I'm planning to try and make it down to the Caledonian on Wednesday for a pre-Burns, afterwork, kilted, pub night with Singlemalt. They are advertising "Burns Week Scotch Tastings, Dancers, Spoken Word, Pipes" from Jan 21st to 26th.

I'm sorry I can't be at any of these events as I no longer live in the Toronto area. However, I did attend the Cobourg Burns Gala on the 19th. I may even fit in a local Burns event this weekend in Trenton if I can manage it.
CMcG, I really like the Caledonian and I have fond memories of us at the Tartan Day gathering a couple of years ago. It is a great pub, really nice ambiance.
Please lift a glass for me.

I will gladly drink to your health and hope we meet again another time!

I packed my kilt and looking forward to a couple of pints at Caledonian tomorrow after work. I had hoped my son could join us as well but he is working. I decided on a 16oz wool tank, forecast is a high of -12 tomorrow.

Yup, it's definitely going to be 16oz tank weather. Approximately what time are you aiming to get down there for?
