Lord Reay, the Chief of Clan Mackay has passed.

I just found out that Hugh Mackay, the Chief of Clan Mackay, passed away on Friday. Here is a link to a biography of him from the Clan Mackay, USA website.

He wasn't my chief but he was for many. My own clan was "chiefless" for many years. We can empathise with the loss of a leader.

I wish the new chief, Æneas Simon Mackay, all the best. Long may he lead his clan with dignity and grace and set a fine example for his people, as his father did.
