I'd guess bish bought one of the kits for £25 and then filed and glued it all together.
    Looks great.

Well done! I'm always impressed with the talent that so many XMarkers have. Sadly I'll have to stick with making home made wine, not Sgian Dubh's, sporrans, kilts ... I did make Green Ginger wine once, but hardly in the same class as many of you "Masters".

Excellent woodworking. With all your planning, I wish that I was going to the wedding!

Thanks, You guessed right, I actually bought one of the kits and a second piece of bog oak and the bottle opener bit. The lighter wood, cherry, as I said I got from my dad.

I really wish I could afford one of Rab's they are spectacular pieces of artwork. I am so grateful though that he is willing to sell kits. It really makes it special to have made my own.

The wedding is coming up fast in Oct. I am so ready though and can't wait to pick up my kilt when it's done. I've wanted one since I was a boy.

I thought about one of those kits myself. Maybe one day
I really like your work, the pair looks great to me and I think that a selfmade item is far more special than anything you can buy.

    Good luck with the wedding.

I like your sgian dubh and "brew", very much. Very good contrast in choice of woods.
Planing to make a set also from the same supplier (Rab Gordon).
