Blended Whisky With Peat
This evening, I've had several wee drams of Teacher's Highland Cream, a very peaty blended whisky, similar to the Black Grouse. It has the peat flavor, like the Islay whiskies, but it is oh so smooth! Yum!

Notes of the sea
A dear redheaded friend stopped by last evening with a (literally) wee dram of Ardbeg Kelpie, obtained and hand-carried from Islay. I was feeling poorly when she arrived; much better by the time she left.
It's lovely stuff.

Very happy to hear that you are enjoying a blended Scotch whisky, Allen! Although I admittedly have now become a Pure Malt Snob (thanks in part to a heavier sporran) I have very fond memories of chilly nights warmed by the likes of Teachers--which was a favorite of a fellow Scotch-loving acquaintance of my younger days--and I still recall how delighted I was with my first experience with White Horse, which back then at least was loaded with Lagavulin. It was silky smooth, sweet and rich as Cognac, and it allowed me to offset the higher cost of the Ardbeg 10 year old that I had also fallen deeply in love with at the same time.My own impression is that the great Blended Grain and Vatted Malt Scotches are not what they use to be, so a review like yours is most encouraging. I don't remember Teachers being smoky at all, but any would-be Peat Freak who's reading this had better take your word for it! Slainte!

I've heard good things about this strangely named one. I'll have to give it a shot.

This is one of the few whiskies that @carolinanan117 really likes. I find it quite tasty, as well.

Tonight, I had several drams of inexpensive blended whisky, and now I'm enjoying some Old Pulteney 12. Um-um good!

My wife surprised me today with a pleasant gift of Glenrothes Sherry Cask Reserve. She found it at the local Wine and Spirits store. Slowly sipping a dram or two as i work on learning and playing "The Red-Haired Girl of Tulloch" strathspey on the fiddle tonight. Life is good.
