Great! Bill Caudill said at the Friday night reception that he had checked online ticket sales at 5pm, and they were up 40% over last year. He was hoping that increase would carry over at the gate Saturday, and from the size of the crowd, it probably did. There were lots of clans and vendors. There were enough bands that the Massed Bands required two waves. Good stuff!

Good deal. I'll try to make it next year.

Tried a GlenBreton while out for anniversary dinner on the weekend; have often thought about picking up a bottle but hadn't yet.

Overall, not bad but not really my style. Not unhappy with giving it a go but will not be picking up a bottle any time soon.

Laphroaig 10... there's just something about the aroma and flavor. It's different than any other Scotch (or any kind of whisky/whiskey) I've tasted ❤️

It's an Islay malt, Lassie--they're in a class by themselves. Now go ahead and try the others--Ardbeg, Bowmore, Bruichladdich, Lagavulin, et al. If you think the 10 year-olds are good at regular proof, spend a bit more and try something like Laphroaig 10 Cask Strength, or Arbeg Uigeadail, or just about any Islay older than that. Welcome to the Peat Freak Club!

Had to travel for work this weekend and stopped by a liquor store. They had Glenfiddich Fire and Cane; never been a huge Glenfiddich fan but with a promise of peat, I figured I'd give it a go.

An interesting dram; not Islay peaty but the first Glenfiddich I've really enjoyed.

Tobermory Limited Edition 15 year old. Slightly sweet and with a hint of smoke and salt, dark in colour, a bit spicy in the finish.

J.W. Blended Scotch Whisky, bottom shelf so relatively inexpensive and very tasty on ice.
