So wrong, so wrong, so wrong!

"The Beaverton" is a satire site, so don't lose it entirely. https://www.thebeaverton.com/2016/06...stes-the-same/

Yep, Varnish Charcoal says it all.

Sort of like Girly Frilly. When you can sum up something with just two words, you have achieved linguistic purity

What utter nonsense. There are dramatic differences between some of them. Cardhu tastes hotel lobby bar smoothie-smooth and Talisker tastes like the aftermath of an out-of-control peat fire. I suppose that if "Scotch" is referring to the blended tuff, there is a certain sameness to a lot (but not all) of it. Cutty Sark ain't Teachers.

Bagpiper from India might taste the same as No-Name from Tescos or an STP fuel additive, I suppose.
Those ancient U Nialls from Donegal were a randy bunch.

Yes. I did say that the Beaverton is satire. They love to poke other people's fires just to watch the sparks go up.

My wife loves the taste of single malt. I describe it as licking a telephone pole.

    Let the sparks fly.

Not something I will be sharing with the guests on my distillery tours...

Although I will be using 'smokey-burny' for everything - just to see if they are paying attention!!

This correspondence reminds us of the dangers of "fake news". There may be any number of people sending out false messages, either by accident or design. I shan't stoke up further controversy by suggesting some well-known current examples.

Reminds of my late brother-in-law, a Salvationist by upbringing, whose reaction upon first tasting a nice malt scotch was to exclaim: "You mean you drink that stuff and no one makes you!"

Nothing lost, old friend. I'm not always the brightest candle in the Menorah either!
