Our rating for that was 3.29 on a scale from 1 to 5. Of the Glenmorangie the 25 year 4.4, the 18 year 4.1, and the Astar 3.92. Anything at or above 3 is good.

Back then the 25 year was something like $105 but now it is north of $350.

Someone in the club emailed Rush Limbaugh and asked what his favorite single malt was and he replied the Glenmorangie 25 year so we tried it. To tell the truth the 18 year is just as good for the money and is around $130.

I used to have a little vacation place over an old stable just up the road from Edradour at Moulin. Drink local. Edradour is the smallest distillery in Scotland, with a very good product, but it needed a substantially better tasting room and freer licensing. Moulin has a very fine pub, its own exceptional Ale of Atholl and a vast array of malts. *sigh* Memories of the walk home past the castle ruin on a late Saturday.

If you are ever in the neighbourhood of Pitlochry, visit Edradour and the Moulin Arms. Maybe even say hello from me to the kilted lads of Atholl who lean on the right-hand side of the bar. I'll see them in a month.

ID:	30696It was international whisk(e)y day the other day. The 16 year old Lagavulin is my favourite of the scotch whiskies but I took a chance and bought my self a bottle of their 8 year old...What a wonderful treat. It is bottled at 48% ABV but still so smooth it really required nary a tear of water to quell the fire ....... If you are looking to give yourself a treat try Lagavulin's 8 year old single malt ....you won't be disappointed that's for sure

Sitting in a hotel just south of Oban, so the single malt by that name seemed most appropriate this evening.

    Special Bowmore

I discovered this 14yr old Bowmore at the Whisky Shop in Tomintoul at the weekend and had to buy a bottle. The special cask limited edition is worth every penny.
