Kilted in the bush
Hi all
Spent a weekend at my weekender down the coast. 20 acres of rustic splendour. For the first time I wore a kilt around the block (USA Kilts Casual in Ireland's National) and was stunned by how cool, comfortable and practical a garment it is for just wandering over the hills. Where my wife was complaining of the heat in her shorts, I was very comfortable indeed. It was about 32 deg C and about 50% humidity for the meteorologists out there.
I originally brought the kilt down to wear to the local eatery on the Friday night. There was a folk band, a bit of a night market and a cocktail bar. The kilt drew some attention and positive comment, but best of all, a free coffee for the guy in the kilt (much needed after the cocktails).
Some photos of the GP boot and T-shirt look (don't worry, only my wife and the snakes could see). I had a collared khaki shirt, green hose and brown leather shoes for dining out, but alas, no photos.
All in all, a fabulous weekend.
All the best.
