Historical sporran

Looking through the past articles, I am not seeing my answer, so bear with me if I am asking a already discussed question.

Can anyone point me to patterns or explanations on how to build a historic sporran? I am specifically interested in the late 18th to early 19th century. I especially like some of the sporrans illustrated on the paintings of Allen such as the Wedding at Blair Atholl (the dancing gent with the trews for example).

Yes, Calgacus... something like that.

As for that "Rob Roy" pattern... that would be a cool pattern for maybe making a fur sporran, which is something I have been wanting to do with some beaver hide I have left over from sewing my wife a beaver fur blanket. Hmmm... I may need to start a sporran collections.!!

It's my understanding, it was one of the last sporrans she made before retiring.
