I've always known that computer monitors are seldom color-balanced properly, but I've always felt my laptop's screen was pretty close... until I saw the photos of the bison hose, in this thread. I have a pair of bison hose from HoC that I bought last July at the museum, and a matching pair of garters ties. I must say, the photos appear much grayer than my actual hose. The hose are more like a light milk chocolate, than what I'm seeing here.

Ken, I have the same problem on my monitor. The dark "Lewis" loden and the bison both appear to be shades of gray. I have a pair of bison hose that I bought from Matt several months back and they are definitely a shade of brown, not gray.

I have a nice collection of kilt hose so I thought I was done buying them......guess not. Looks like I will add to my collection with a couple of the new colors in the Lewis line.

I just sprang for a pair of the Cinnamon Chessboard thinking they might look good with green/orange ancient tartans, like the Macfarlane Hunting Ancient. Can't wait to take them for a spin.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Correct me if Im wrong but the Bison colour was discontinued some time ago. I think this might be a new colour using the same name.

I didn't say it earlier, but this Lewis mustard looks less bright than the mustard in the photos of the Rannoch hose. Makes me wonder if they've changed colors or just cameras.

Bison color - same as before. Any color difference you see are due to the photography, monitor settings, etc. It's actually harder than you think to photograph this very simple color.

Mustard color - yes, there is a difference between the mustard in the Lewis and the mustard in the Rannoch. The Rannoch mustard is much brighter.

FYI, all photography is done under natural light, as I find this helps to keep the color as true as possible. However, there is no substitute for viewing them in person!
