Here's the best shot I have, showing the HoC bison hose. This should give folks a better idea of the actual color of the hose.

Good to know, Matt! I have the Rannoch in the mustard already, so I think I'll go ahead and order a pair in the Lewis as well, since they are different shades. Why not?!

Ken: Good picture. On my screen and to my eye those bison hose look just like mine in real life. And, I often use yellow flashes with them, too. Very nice outfit, by the way - love your flat cap.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Wonderful! Thanks for the photo, Ken. This hue would go nicely with weathered/reproduction tartans, which is precisely why I must have a pair!

Exactly. The kilt in that shot is a Buchanan "Reproduction" palette, by Dalgliesh. Very earthy.

Child of depression era parents - stocking up? Years of Boy Scouts - be prepared? Already have two pair of the other colors. My best guess is because it takes a couple days for the hand washed hose to hang dry. Might be wearing kilts two days in a row that both require khaki hose. I know its common on trips to find that I'm packing two pair of the same color kilt hose to go with separate kilt tartans. They don't wear as fast when I alternate pairs. It feels better to know they're there. All of the above....
