I started out wearing regimental ties when I first started wearing kilts (thanks to XMTS!), but not so much anymore. For me, I find my Garcia ties work best. Stripes (at least in my limited brain) seem to get "confused" with the tartan.

I recognised the tie right away, Richard. My grandfathers both served in the Army during WWII and I have seen the WWII Victory medal many times. Smashing tie, sir.

    Yes indeed!

I dearly loved my Father-in-Law, lost to us a couple years ago, who was in Infantry officer in the Pacific Theater in WWII. When he passed I asked my Mother-in-Law if I could possibly have that tie.

I lost my Uncle in WWII, and my Stepfather is also a WWII veteran (both European Theater). I think of all these wonderful men whenever I put on that tie.

Thanks Kyle. I appreciate the compliment. It is a full Windsor, it's my favourite and for yonks has been the only knot I use. 'Tis the symmetry of it that appeals... and I have had a few years practice at tying them.
