It's not really clear in the photo but:
Bonnet - lovat blue
Jacket - lovat green
Hose - top - lovat green
Hose - middle - lovat blue
Hose - bottom - ancient blue?? (I died these myself so I don't know what blue to call it.)
Garter ties - lovat green
Garter flashes - ancient red
I like the 'Nathan blue' hose with the ancient red flashes.

Well said, mate and I agree! Nathan rocks blue-based kilt hose better than anyone I've seen before. The colour always coordinates rather well with his kit.

I'm just pleased with the way the dye set. It was a pure roll of the dice!

"Matchy matchy"? Many times have I seen this comment, always derogatory. Yet what is wrong with that? Is this an outbreak of kilt koppery? Good on ya, Mikilt!

I am not aware that the "kilt Kops" have, or had, any need to disturb their slumbers. There have been several long threads about not being Matchy Matchy when it is being explained to those that are grappling with that particular way of thinking------and it does seem to be a difficult idea to grasp for some of those not brought up with that way of thinking. However, I don't think anyone is saying or has said that MM, or not, is anything other than a personal choice.

Exactly Jock! I was going to just hit the "Aye" button, but thought that might be too "MM".
Cheers!

Claret kilt hose are definitely a good call, Mike. I also wear mine with my Hunting Stewart, as well as my Scottish National and my solid brown utility kilts. I have claret hose in both "summer" and "winter" weights, so they're a year-round option. I can go matchy-matchty with them, since it's one of my favorite colors and I have claret-colored sport shirts (like the one you're wearing), polo shirts, sweaters and vests, but I usually go for contrast with a top in dark blue or green. Claret hose have a certain simultaneously dressy and sporty quality to them, in my opinion, that makes them an especially versatile choice for any type of daywear.

WalesLax, the worrying question is: is your fiancée adding the MacGregor Chief’s outfit to the prenup because she wants you to wear it, or because she wants to forbid you from wearing it? ;-)
