Back on the River for the First Time This Year....Finally!!

Got back on the water and floated down Glen Canyon of the Colorado River today. Beautiful day for it. Took my new Utilikilts black workman's along this trip. Kilt #80 on the river...

We put in at Petroglyph Beach to hike to some Puebloen petroglyphs

That's Horseshoe Bend Overlook at the top of the cliffs in the background.

Pleat shot. It was 95F and like a solar oven on the river. The Colorado River is 45 degrees F below Glen Canyon dam so wading in the water is a fast way to cool down.

End of the trip at the dock at Lees Ferry. Downstream is Marble Canyon then the Grand Canyon. Folks in the background are outfitting for a down canyon trip.

Ron: You're an amazing adventurer - a kilted voyager! Thanks for posting those pics that make us wish we were there.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Looks like fun. This is off topic... BKPowell, are you related to Lord Baden-Powell (as in the Founder of the Boy Scouts)? Your avatar caught my eye and then your screen name.
