A Targe modeled on the one captured at Culloden which currently resides in the Tower of London.




Plied core, padded deer hide rear, 7-8oz leather, solid set spike (which I had to blunt a bit after I'd machined it, as I made it WAAAY too pointy),
as well as ~750 brass tacks.

You never cease to amaze me, my friend. As with each of your projects, the historical accuracy and attention to minute details are deeply impressive. Aesthetically, the colour, tooling and the metal craftsmanship are truly beautiful. I can only imagine how wonderful the actual feel of this artwork is to handle. I echo Mr. Maxwell's view that you have likely created a new, and highly desirable product line. One which, I am sure would be of interest not only to serious re-enactors and casual collectors, but to museums, filmmakers and Art collectors. Congratulations, Scott on yet another Masterpiece.

I would say your targe is probably made by Joe and not made in India. Joe's work is hand crafted and has a world wide reputation as being of the highest standard. I hope this helps you identify the maker.
