Great pictures! I wish I had been there, too. Next weekend, Andrea and I will attend the St. Thomas Alumni Pipe Band Fundraiser to send them off to the World Pipe Band Championship in Glasgow.

Great pictures, Alex. Thanks for taking the time to share them. IMR, are you the PM of the band?

No. I was actually occupying the pipe sergeant position, the far left in the front rank. The pipe major position is the far right in the front rank. I did appear in some photos on the far right. This was the result of the band having performed a counter march to reverse direction. This causes the left and right positions to be reversed.

    Ian,

I just noticed the kilt you were wearing in those pics. Please tell me I did not screw up when I pleated your new band kilts to the stripe!!!!!!!!!!

No, Steve, you did not screw up. My old band kilt fit so badly that I didn't take it to Scotland. The kilt I am wearing in the photos is my new USAKilts Celtic Nations 13-oz. wool 5-yarder. I would normally wear a full 7-8-yard kilt when playing with a pipe band, but, until I pick up my new band kilt, I don't have one that fits me, given my significant weight loss over the past 2-3 years. We arrived home late yesterday evening and I still have to arrange to pick up my new band kilt.
