Holy cow!!! Well done!!! You never cease to amaze, Scott! There's no doubt that you are THE premiere sporran maker of our generation. I cannot wait to discuss my ideas with you when the time comes. Congratulations to the commissioner on such an heirloom quality, and highly unique sporran; so beautifully and expertly ressurected from a bygone era. I just love it!
Cheers,

Brilliant, Scott! The whole piece is superb, but especially that cantle. If/when I ever get the means, I'll want that cantle on my Artificer custom sporran.

Superb cantle construction Scott. I think your customer and you should be applauded for going after one of the "holy grails" of sporrans.

I wonder, does it ever get lonely living in a Class of one's own?

Fantastic work!
When I win the lotto, after buying my zeppelin airship, I'm commissioning a sporran fine enough to impress the gods.

Cheers,
Thanks ever so much. Projects like this are really what keep me excited and engaged. I'm always forced to wonder what happened to the originals. Was it discarded? Still stuffed into a trunk in some attic somewhere, mouldering away? How do these things become lost to time? Doubly so the skills- Why were things like this no longer made?
How does something like this vanish from the world? What happened to it's maker?
I hate to see things disappear, especially well crafted things.

It might be that, but more likely it's the fact that I barely leave the workshop.
Seriously though, thank you all again. The reception this piece has gotten here and around the web has me grinning from ear to ear.
I'm so very lucky to have been afforded the opportunity to remake such an iconic piece.

Well done once again Scott, what a fantastic piece. You have done a sterling job of replicating it perfectly.
I like that functional cantle, that's very smart, very smart indeed!
You are the go-to sporran man, anything else is second best.
