You're correct that was accidentally omitted. Two chevrons cottised Or?

Nice coat of arms, Dram. I will have to look it up on the Bureau’s website so that I can see who you are ;-)
I generally shy away from mantling gules turned argent, but since it repeats the livery colours (white in the mantling for ermine on the shield) it is actually appropriate.
I would disagree, though, that the gold chevronels are cottises, since they are within the red chevron, rather than above and below. I think a better wording would be:

Ermine, on a chevron between three fleurs de lis Gules, two chevronels gules above and below a heart Or, between two trefoils slipped Argent.

Actually “above and below” is not the best heraldic wording, but it was all I could think of for the moment. However the proper wording ought to be part of the official blazon – would you post that?
My arms were registered by the Bureau in 2012.

Thank you. Many years ago (while I was a teenager) my first pipe teacher, a Henderson from Aberdeen, played a role much like a father to me. When he was alive he always insisted I wear his kilt, and when he passed amongst the many things he left me was his Henderson kilt. I've been wearing that tartan ever since. Despite my own ancestry and other clans that I would have a familial connection with, Henderson just fits! So although I wouldn't mind designing my own tartan, I am very comfortable with the Henderson sett.

Hello Dram, can I ask how long the process took you with the Bureau of Heraldry in South Africa? The reason I ask it that I registered back in July 2014 with the Bureau and I'm still waiting for my initial preview of arms. Am I just unlucky or did yours take several months to complete???

Hello Joseph,

I may have made a mistake I believe it was called "a chevron cottised" and was originally omitted from the blazon. Although the arms are "registered" I am waiting for the certificate which may take until December. The Herald in South Africa referred to it as a Chevron Cottised...I mistakenly said two chevrons.
