A Movie Star Comes Back To Life!
Well, perhaps that's not entirely accurate, but "A Documentary Feature Comes Back To Life" doesn't have quite the ring, no?
Some X-Markers may be familiar with a certain short from the Scottish Screen Archive documenting the hand crafting of a sporran in the mid 1950s.
I've just put the finishing touches on it's grandson.
In custom-dyed pigskin- the colours were changed by the commissioner from the original (which had more of a mustard-yellow cast), and I slightly altered the carved detail
applied to the flap, but other than that it's almost identical. The commissioner also specified an acid green interior with a card pocket and key lanyard.
Along with a matching casual belt in the Sam Browne style and a matching sporran strap.
After having watched and re-watched the movie so many times it was a real treat to get to make one.
As always, constructive commentary is most welcome.

Very nice, as always, Artificer!
However, if I WERE to offer some constructive commentary, or inquiry, it would be to perhaps see what it would look like with the outside tassels shortened a little bit to match the radius of the bag.
It is always a pleasure to see your work, I really appreciate folks who are really good at what they do and you certainly know your stuff.
Thanks for the look.
