How do you keep cuff links from falling out?

I received my rental from Celtic Croft and tried it on. Everything fit great except the kilt hose. They won't fit over my calves. Fortunately I have a pair that fits me great. My other problem happened as I was about to take off the outfit. I had the outfit on for a total of about 5 minutes when I discovered that one of the cuff links fell to the floor. Does the rabble have any ideas how to keep them in for the duration of the wedding and reception? Tape?

Either cheap links or the cuff holes are too big. I know it's a hire but try a stitch or two to make them smaller... before you put the links in.

Any Pics of the links? All my cufflinks have rather big crossbars that could hold a cufflink securely in a stab wound.

It appears that the crossbars swivel very easily.

The cuff links are the clan style so I am certain they are relatively cheap. Therefor the crossbars swivel rather easily. Rather too easily.

Maybe a quick squish of the pivot point with pliers to stiffen the swively part?

Squishing the posts at the pivot point is the best first option. Second and more temporary is cellophane tape when cuff link is inserted and the tape is applied by someone else (wrapped on the post between the cuffs so it isn't noticed.) The cuffs will hold the loose end snug so it won't swivel. Stitching of the slit in the cuff is also a great idea if you own the shirt but a last resort on a rental. These tips are from my father-in-law (the most dapper man in Mississippi)

Do you have your own cuff links? Is there time to get a set that you like?
