New Member from Northern California :)

    Hello!!!
I have to say, this is an absolutely awesome forum!!

I've been interested in kilts since before my teens, but for the last 20 years have done nothing more than admire them. (mostly because of the expense. Both real and perceived)
I also couldn't see myself spending that much money just for something I would only wear once every great while.
Enter the Contemporary Kilt!!! I first saw them on friends, and sometimes while setting up for different events. But again, the expense!!! I'm a single dad, and even $300 for something that I would wear at least every week was too prohibitive. It still is, I'm saving my pennies!!
However... Someone awesome on here has written directions to making kilts... ones that even I could follow. (When sewing, i'm limited to straight lines... this is straight lines and math! perfect!)
So, I'm nearly done making a kilt for my son. After his, I'll start on one for me!

P.S. I'm still determined to someday have a Freedom Kilt... Wizard of BC: After Christmas, be expecting a call!

    ~K

LOL! All I've done the past several weeks is study, read about, and talk about kilts and sewing them. My coworkers already think I'm turning into a "Dandy-Lion".
