Fresh from the Finishers....The 1790 MacDuff Tartan lives again!

    Ladies & Gentlemen,

@Calgacus and I are delighted to be able to share this first photo of the reborn circa 1790 MacDuff Tartan. Our chosen Kiltmaker is Paul Henry and Paul has just received our bolt of cloth from Robin Elliot, fresh from the finishers and ready for the various projects we have in mind. Richard and I can hardly contain our enthusiasm. Photos of the finished articles will follow in the fullness of time.

For those who may be interested in having some of this fine old tartan for their own use, we are planning a second run early in the new year. Please do drop us a line if you'd like to join us in this endeavour.

Thanks, once again to Matt Newsome, Brian Wilton and Peter MacDonald for their inspiration and support right from the start. Thanks again, as well to Robin Elliot for his guidance, skill and artistry in the actual weaving of the cloth.

Finally, here is a photo of the original Kilt resting over the new cloth, still on Robin's loom.

Whilst the photos are indeed, beautiful - in person, the colours are far richer and the textures are incredible. This re-creative process has been a true labour of love right from the off and great fun.

...and you just can't hide it...
Lovely piece of fabric that matches the original very well.
Look forward to seeing the finished kilts, etc.
