Happy to join the club
So a while ago there was a thread about MoD cantles at a great price from Robert Upton. I have wanted one of those cantles for a long time however the price always seemed prohibitive at the price offered though it was a no brainer and a lot of us got in on it. At the same time I have always wanted an Artificer sporran. The stars aligned and I was able to send off the cantle to Scott. The wait did not seem that long and Scott sent me a photo of the finished product to ensure I was happy with it, it was exactly what we had discussed. When it did show up I wanted to wear it to Tartan Tuesday as a first wear, I did not go as I had to work so the first wear came on Remembrance Day.
I am extremely happy with it and upon wearing it I have found that the brass cantle does not bother me at all, I think this is because the bag is soft and so the cantle does not dig in and is very comfortable to wear. I can see this becoming my favourite day sporran.
Here are a couple photos.

Another triumph for Scott and it looks great on you. I am a huge fan of MOD cantles and the leather is of a particularly nice hue on this re bag. Wonderful.

Beautiful, my wish someday is to have one of Artificer's work of art.

Understated elegance? How does that sound? It`s a lovely sporran and you are wearing it well. Congratulations on joining the club.

First rate indeed ! That is definitely an heirloom piece . I like your choice of sporran style and the leather color .
And ... you wear it quite well ! Very smashing attire .

That's awesome! Exactly the classic style I've always liked. Mine is similar except for the type of leather, yes? Yours has a beautiful subtle sheen to it, and more grain/texture than mine.
Sometime it would be nice to see a photo of you wearing that sporran with one of your highly patterned tweed jackets, a wonderful old-school combination, I would think.
Yes indeed very comfortable to wear, and my favourite day sporran too! (My goat sporran is huge and a bit cumbersome.)
Welcome to the club! Perhaps an MOD/Artificer Moot can be arranged somewhere, sometime.

The configuration is very similar yours @OC Richard, with minor variations to accommodate the differences in leathers.
McMurdo's a a slightly more finished leather (the sheen), less prone to rapid patina than the wax/oil finish of yours, @Kilted Cole's, and mine. It's also a bit thinner and more workable.
