Pleased to join the ranks of the Artificer Custom Sporran Owners' Club
So, I too purchased a brass MOD Culloden sporran cantle when Robin Upton had them for sale at such a great price and had him ship it directly to Artificer. Lots of others had the same great idea and so while I didn’t delay, I was at the back of the queue compared to some other xmarkers like KiltedCole, McMurdo and OC Richard.
I wanted a unique, heirloom quality piece that reflected my connection to the home of my heart, Cape Breton Island. I was raised on Cape Breton and feel very connected to the Gaelic culture there. That brass outline on the targe is a wonderfully detailed map of the island.
I had long admired Artificer’s workmanship and taste and had decided I would get a custom sporran from him at some point, but choosing what I wanted that sporran to look like was no easy feat.
In the end, we worked together to take my ideas and requests from theoretical musings to what I think is a magnificent piece that I will cherish.
Scott was a pleasure to work with and helped bring my idea to life. I hope you like the fruits of his labour. Now I shall watch the post as I’m anxious to get it into my hands!

Nice, Nathan. I'm sure your well pleased. It's great to see the variety of sporran bags that can be matched with these great cantles. I'm so kicking myself I passed on one.

Another beautiful sporran by Scott and the extra pocket on the reverse is a cracking idea, but the outline of Cape Breton is inspired. Marvellous.
