A pleasure. The next one will be on Wilsons' Music or Band tartan.

That's a really interesting tartan. I just learned a few things about tartan by reading that. Since I have need of making an 18th century waistcoat and jacket soon, this has been helpful!

It's likely that I won't be competing in the Heavy Athletics at the Pleasanton Games this year. It's a long story. I might be judging, I just don't know.

However, if I'm not competing or judging I may very well be participating in the Living History (aka "Ren Faire) section with a friend who operates a Guild. This year the "era" is supposed to be mid-1700's whereas it's "usually" Mary Queen of Scots period.

Ah ha! Very interesting. I am always a fan of historical wear. Of course, I am a history teacher and reenactor as well. I am about halfway through a tartan coat right now and I have a waistcoat of the same fabric I made a few years ago.

Thank you for posting this thread! I am also in the process of getting one of these coats made and this will be invaluable!
