Christmas Party 2014

Had our Christmas party last Saturday night and had the opportunity to wear my muted Maxwell kilt. also we had a piper in our backyard playing Christmas music! sorry no pics! but it did happen!

Sounds like you had a great time and the muted Maxwell kilt sounds smashing. Did you know that Marton Mills do a tartan called 'Auld Lang Syne Red' to celebrate Robert Burns, which is actually the Maxwell. I guess they used this sett as Dumfries (where Robert Burns lived) is part of the old Maxwell clan territory. I love this tartan and although I have no connexion with the name Maxwell I'm very tempted as Marton Mills seem to be promoting it as a general tartan.

Marton Mills also makes a Maxwell modern colors in 16 oz. that appears identical to the "Auld Lang Syne Red." I wonder if it's not simply a marketing ploy to move the Maxwell modern!
