A fine looking dirk. I`m looking forward to seeing your completed display.

    All components acquired

Shortly after leaving for a two-week vacation, I received notice that the Murdoch pistol would arrive during my absence, so I arranged for a neighbor to retrieve the package.

I added the pistol, dirk and clan garter and buckle plaque, and removed the tartan. I also unsheathed the blades of the dirk, broadsword and backsword.

I've not yet determined how/if I'll try to work in tartan, but here's a quick photo of the display as it stands (taken on my phone, so excuse the poor quality):

That looks great! I'm not sure how you would work in the tartan either, but I think it could be worth the effort to try it out...

    Shaun...

That is a very nice display and well done. Since you have a mantle, you might consider a tartan draping there. I have never been a huge fan of draping tartan on blades although I have seen some attractive displays with tartan on the basket hilts rather than on the blades.

Anyway, again, well done and a nice focal point for your Scottish home.
