Well, I've only bought one yet, and am currently awaiting its arrival.
I purchased from here: http://www.usakilts.com/, due to the balance of budget and quality (at the moment, $320 was about my upper limit, and the 5-yard wool model seemed to be about the best I was likely to be able to do for that price range).

Any maker/seller who advertises on this site is worth checking out. A lot of people here like UASKilts, and I`m one of them. Good Quality, good value.

I have 2 wool and 3 casual and 1 semi-traditional from USAkilts. I have a number of budget kilts from Buyakilt.com. My favorite are definitely my USAkilts. Both businesses have excellent customer service.

I have a semi-tradition and a five yard wool made by Rocky at USA Kilts. You can't beat the quality and customer service . I'm already thinking about by next kilt from USA.

I just realized I have kilts from seven different XMarks venders, and haven't had a bad experience yet. I arrived here as a total newbie, and I have had a lot of fun, made some good friends, and learned a lot about kilts. I love this forum.

I have a wool from Burnett & Struth and two PVs from a non-XMarks vendor. You can buy from the vendors affiliated with this site with confidence. Also they offer the range of styles, materials, and price-points.

2 from Burnett & Struth, 1 older one from Kinloch Anderson (My first premium "tank"), one Heavyweight Wool from Stillwater, and one currently being made for me by Barbara Tewksbury.
I also have some vintage military kilts bought off of eBay, but they don't all fit me. I also collect Militaria, and that was really their intended purpose.
My next acquisition down the road will be a box pleated.
You can't go wrong buying from any of the vendors associated with this forum.
