So after a little more tinkering, and a surprisingly simple way to fix one design problem I was having. I think I have come up with something worth submitting to the organization for consideration. My file names are wrong for the organization, as I mislabeled one of my early concepts and just kept up with my mistake. That will change when submitted but has nothing to do with how the designs look.

So I started off with a tartan that was mostly green, I knew I wanted to change that to blue which was easy. This is what I came up with.

That just wasn't pleasing to my eye, and it left out the black and white which were part of the logo I was trying to emulate. So I decided to add black and white where I thought they would fit and got this.

This didn't quite work for me, as it seemed to make the smaller stripes too dominant. So I made the gold and white a bit thinner and moved the gold/black and the white/red further in in relation to the blues. This is what it looks like now.

As always I am open to comments and suggestions, but I think this at least adds the colors I wanted, changes the design a bit and still keeps many features from the original.
